There is a Lottery grant scheme aimed at helping not for profit organisations perfect for schools, colleges and nurseries for example. There are small grants available of around £300 to £10,000 and can be used for things that help or encourage:-

People to have better chances in life – with better access to training and development to improve their life skills.
Improved rural and urban environments – which communities are better able to access and enjoy.
Healthier and more active people and communities.

There are also grants to help promote sport.
